Who I Am

In short, I'm a fan of computers. I've always been a tinkerer and I love to explore new things. I take joy in learning, and every day is something new. I have always strode to be someone unique, but my biggest lesson has been to enjoy what I do. No matter what it is I'm working on, I always find love in my work.

A Knack for Devices

When I was 5, people joked at me because my favorite toy at that time was a calculator. I had a rich fixation towards it; I was fascinated by the way the numbers changed. I was fairly reserved back then, and I found myself figuring many things out on my own. While I'm no longer quiet and secluded, that intrinsic curiosity has stuck with me my whole life, I have a talent for understanding and applying things I have no experience with.

At the age of about 12 or 13, I found myself with my very own computer for the first time. An old Gateway, where I learned so many things. I always loved to look around at settings, learning what they do through experience and experimentation. I took on a variety of different projects, most often involving games I was interested in. While working on various personal projects, I quickly picked up a lot of software and obtained swift confidence working in different programs, from video editing to design, development and programming to art.

Love for Linux

Heading into high school, a friend introduced me to Linux. I was immediately entranced by it; it was something new and different from the Windows 7 I had always known. I excitedly dove right into it, starting with Ubuntu 18.04. It was a daunting expenditure, many obstacles were in my way as I had little understanding of the foreign workflow. I stayed committed and eventually found myself even more comfortable with it than with Windows. As I continued to grow and learn, I learned what Linux truly was and meant.

I realized then and there, that Linux was all about being open source and community-oriented. My initial love grew much deeper, and I stand in pride for public products. I find Accessibility to be a great value, I believe everyone should have the opportunity to explore and learn.

Today, I use Debian 12 on my Desktop as my primary OS.

Options, Options, and More Options

I love variety, and I love trying new things. There's never a boring day to me, and I love to pick up on things I know little about. I stride to learn as many things as I can, diversifying my palette and skillset to fit in any environment. While I primarily use Debian, I also regularly use Mac and Windows on the go. I pick up new things and have different options I use for everyday tasks. One example is recently I've been introduced to a notetaking app called Obsidian, and I found myself integrating it into my everyday life in a matter of a few days.
